What would you do to be with of the love of your life?
Would stay up into the wee hours of the night baking cookies with him even though you had assignments due the next day? Would you have your newspaper purposefully delivered to her address just so you had an excuse to see her every day? Would you spend almost five years of your relationship in long distance so that you could each pursue your dreams while you pursued each other?
Matt and Adrienne would. Matt and Adrienne did.
Winning Adrienne’s affection with sweet baking nights and endearing newspaper deliveries was, in retrospect, the easy part. What M+A couldn’t have known at the start were the challenges of long distance that awaited them. As Matt graduated and moved to Delaware while Adrienne was still in Pennsylvania. As Adrienne moved to Maine while Matt was still in Delaware. As Matt moved to Maryland while Adrienne was still in Maine. As Adrienne moved to North Carolina while Matt was still in Maryland.
But Adrienne and Matt seemed to match every mile between them with hours spent on the phone, or in the air, or in the car, bridging the distance with intentionality and certainty. A+M’s your home base ended up being not just one city, but everywhere. They may not have had one favorite date spot to call “theirs” during their dating years, but they certainly did become comfortable exploring new cities together and seeking out cozy coffee shops to temporarily call their own. So, it was only fitting that they paid tribute to their long distance season of life doing just that, and we explored all over Georgetown’s canals and waterfront, after we caffeinated ourselves at the always delicious Baked and Wired, of course.
Enjoy a few favorites from this sweet pair’s session!
