“Your eyes are green when you’re happy,” he began. “I love that I know that about you.”
And then there was not one dry eye left in the crowd at Wendy and Tomer’s ceremony. The sun sparkled through the tall trees in that magical way it does right at the precipice of fall and their parents looked on from either side: proud, loving, knowing the wild adventure that lay ahead for their children, knowing that their children had found the perfect partner to share in that same adventure.
I’m a pretty firm believer that you attract the energy that you put into the world, and if Wendy and Tomer aren’t a perfect example of why we should all be gifting each other with love and laughter and a deeply passionate desire to use the gifts we’ve been given for the good of others, I don’t know who is. Because to look around at their wedding celebration and witness the love emanating from their friends and family towards these two was just overwhelming at times. Throughout the entire day, 60 seconds hardly went by without a joyful tear shed or a belly laugh let out or a congratulatory kiss shared, and standing there in the middle of it all, attempting to capture those precious fleeting moments, you just couldn’t help but feel it, too.
The weather was flawless. Wendy looked like a Greek goddess and Tomer was working his (most excellent) bespoke blue tux like he’d just leapt off the pages of GQ. The wedding party was incredibly fun, the florals were impeccable and Airlie, as always, lent the perfect backdrop. But even if it poured all day, if Tomer’s tux was stained or Wendy’s hair wouldn’t cooperate. Even if the flowers went missing or the DJ didn’t show up… even if it had all gone wrong, it all would have been alright, because nothing could have stopped these two from joyfully celebrating their love with their tribe.
“Your eyes are green when you’re happy,” Tomer concluded, “They’re green right now, in fact, and I promise to do everything in my power to keep them that way for the rest of our lives.”
Cheers to you, Wendy and Tomer, and to a lifetime of green eyes.
